There's a colossal investment of time and energy behind these images - they're all achieved through a combination of visual creativity and painstaking graphics programming, and producing the final artwork often keeps very hefty computers very hot for many hours.

The company behind Visual Nation is PollyTiles Ltd - you might know us better for our work in large-scale commercial graphics. We're based in the UK, in leafy Hertfordshire and vibrant Brighton, and we're a mix of artists, designers and software engineers.

You might have noticed you can't buy anything on this site, and there's a refreshing absence of the usual adverts. The whole point of this site is for you to spot a way that any of these techniques could work for you, and then to get in touch with us for a chat. Not everything we do involves the Guinness Book of Records people turning up* - yes, we've created pieces for museums, major brands, rock stars, ocean liners, oligarchs, media barons, and even a rural railway station, but we've done far more work that winds up on a wall in someone's house.
